Maintenance Habits That Keep a Galvanized Frame Rust-Free

Galvanized steel tolerates neglect far better than painted steel, but a short seasonal routine stretches the coating's life by years:

  1. Rinse the frame, pads and mat a few times per season to remove grass residue, bird droppings and fertilizer, all of which hold moisture against the zinc.
  2. Inspect welds, leg sockets and spring hooks at the start of every season, since these are the first places corrosion appears.
